Shivamogga Airport with airport code - (IATA: RQY, ICAI: VOSH), officially renamed as Kuvempu Airport, is a domestic airport (soon to be international) serving the city of Shivamogga, Karnataka,India. It is located at Sogane, 8.8 km (5.5 mi) from Shivamogga and 8.2 km (5.1 mi) from Bhadravathi. The airport has world class infrastructure and it resembles the shape of a lotus flower. This airport will definitely boost sectorial activities in shivamogga such as tourism, medical tourism, investment, connectivity, industries,,etc.

This airport is very and clean. Only one cafe there. Not many flights arriving or departing on a daily basis. Bus takes you to the plane.

Amazing small airport, friendly staff but be prepared to carry some snacks if you’re travelling with kids and your flight gets delayed as there are no food stalls available anywhere inside the terminal. Hope they have atleast one option to get some food next time we visit.

There are no facilities to provide tea/coffee don't waste your time by reaching early. Despite asking for coffee the service provider in Airport is least bothered

This airport connects the Shivamogga & nearby towns to the world(through Bengaluru international airport) Also it hopefully helps for development of local economy over time. This development project by the ministry of aviation is much appreciated. Coming to airport infrastructure - it seems to have been designed to cater less traffic. So has minimalist facilities. Many people who travelled with me were either connecting or trying out flying for first time. All in all, the airport has what it takes to lift off & land. The bad - connectivity. The airport has no public transport. The local taxi drivers will rip off. For 13kms(closest city bus terminal) they ask upto Rs 1400. Clearly the airport administration has failed on this aspect. I would highly encourage to arrange for ground transport before landing. I am taking off two stars for this inconvenience.
